Low Costa Mill consists of seven holiday cottages with an indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
The cottages were all carefully converted from old farm and mill buildings, and are grouped round a courtyard next to the original farmhouse. They all vary in size to accommodate most families.
They are set in ten acres of open countryside, through which runs the Costa Beck, an ancient mill stream dating from the 1200s.
In the grounds young visitors will enjoy meeting the animals in Pet’s Corner and feeding the many ducks on our pond. We have a very large, safe, grass play area with swings, climbing frame, sand pit, practice net and giant outdoor board games. There are also many quiet corners for just sitting and relaxing, and the woodland planted sixteen years ago is now attracting a variety of wildlife. Fly fishing on site on the Costa Beck is available by arrangement, free of charge, where you may be lucky enough to spot our resident Kingfishers.
Our fully heated indoor swimming pool, with small separate child’s pool, is open all year from 8am to 10pm. In the swimming pool area there is also a very relaxing Jacuzzi.
The cottages vary in size to take from two to eight people plus cots. All have full electric heating and all except Thresher have log fires.
All prices are fully inclusive.
Each cottage has flatscreen/digital TVs and video or DVD, conventional and microwave ovens and all except Carters have dishwashers.
There is a shared payphone in the information area at the entrance to the swimming pool and for the cottages without washing machines there is a shared laundry room.
All beds are made up for your arrival and all towels are provided except for the swimming pool towels. Cots and high chairs are available free of charge on request (note: we do not provide cot linen).
The cottages are well located being in open countryside but only two miles from the market town of Pickering, famous for the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, on which you can take a ride to Goathland (Heartbeat Country). We are close to the ancient city of York and in easy reach of Scarborough, Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay on the coast, and a must for children is Flamingo Land the theme park and zoo just 15 minutes away.
We are open all year round. Well behaved pets welcome by arrangement with owners.
